Islamabad. As per recent reports published by a brokerage house, Pakistan’s Ministry of Finance has prepared an ambitious tax collection target of PKR 15.3 Trillion for Fiscal Year 2027. The brokerage house, in its report titled Federal Budget FY27 Preview, revealed that this target has been set at the times when Federal Board of Revenue is facing a huge shortfall in tax collections around Rs. 680 Billion. According to the report, Government of Pakistan is likely to impose additional taxes to generate additional tax revenue of around Rs. 425 billion.
The report also highlights that Federal Tax Authorities are considering to generate additional funds above Rs. 750 billion through enforcement measures.
There is also a proposal under consideration to reduce taxes on salaried class while a phased reduction in Super Tax is also being considered.
