Muzaffarabad: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government will be presenting its budget for the financial year 2026-27, totalling over Rs286 billion in AJK’s Legislative Assembly. The budget will prioritize public welfare with a 7% increase in salaries and pensions for government employees, alongside significant allocations for education and healthcare.

Expected to be Presented in AJK Legislative Assembly by AJK Finance Minister Chaudhry Qasim Majeed, the budget of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJ&K) will outline the allocation of resources for various developmental, administrative, and social welfare projects. This Budget will play a crucial role in driving growth and ensuring efficient utilization of funds to meet regional priorities and challenges.
According to AJK Finance Department’s budget document for Year 2025-26, Revenue Receipts were projected to be Rs. 260 Billion out of which Tax Revenue was estimated Rs. 85.8 Billion while Non-Tax Revenue was estimated at Rs. 174.14 Billion. Major Portion of Non-Tax Revenue was Grant from Federal Government Amounting Rs. 149 Billion.
